Please download, print and fill out the Confidential Intake Form before you arrive for your first visit. This needs to be on record before we can start the massage session so it will save time to have it completed before you arrive.
Before we start the treatment session we will discuss any particular areas you would like to have worked on and come up with a treatment plan to best serve your needs during the time we have. In general I tend to focus on one or two problem areas, accessing deep muscles and releasing fascial restrictions. You may combine a full body massage with focus to problem areas as well.
I'll show you to your room and where to hang your clothes. I will leave the room so you may get undressed to your level of comfort and get settled on the massage table. Many people do not wear clothing during the treatment but, it is up to the individual. You will be draped with a sheet at all times, except for the area being worked on.
I will make sure that you are positioned comfortably and will provide pillows or any necessary support as needed. There is a heating pad on the table to warm you, which can be adjusted at any time. I will also check in with you during the session to see if the pressure is too much, or not enough. I encourage you to breathe during your treatment. Breathing brings awareness, increases relaxation and helps let go of pain. Feel free to let me know if something doesn't feel right, this is your massage and I want you to feel at ease. I depend on your feedback to give the best massage possible.
At the end of the massage I will leave the room so that you can take your time getting dressed. We will then chat about what you felt and answer any questions you may have. I often offer stretches or self-care practices you can do at home that may be helpful to add to your personal routine.
Please note that my office is HIPAA compliant and your privacy is of utmost importance to me. For your safety, treatment rooms and surrounding areas will be disinfected before and after each client for your protection.
